In rural India, women face significant gaps in healthcare access, health awareness, and economic opportunities. Healing Fields addresses these challenges through our pioneering Community Health Entrepreneur (CHE) model, which trains rural women to run fee-based health services that improve community well-being while generating supplementary income.

CHEs provide preventive health education, maternal and child care, nutrition counselling, and NCD management, alongside paid services such as:

• Doorstep screenings for blood pressure and diabetes 
• Sale of essential health and hygiene products
• Health camps and school-based awareness sessions
• Facilitation of teleconsultations with quality doctors and referrals to health centres

This dual impact model creates a sustainable livelihood stream for women while enhancing access to healthcare at the last mile. Over 82.5% of CHEs report higher incomes, and 98% note greater mobility and autonomy, transforming their social and economic roles in their families and communities. 

Beyond service delivery, CHEs grow into frontline health workers, leaders, and micro-entrepreneurs, creating ripple effects across the health ecosystem. By equipping women with skills, confidence, and opportunity, Healing Fields is nurturing a powerful network of rural health entrepreneurs who are changing both lives and livelihoods.
